In a futile attempt to keep the thread concerned ON topic I have decided to bring the discussion/debate/argument here with the hope that the admins can rule one way or the other and put the arguments to bed.

From the dashcam thread (where people have decided that they are entitled to post whatever dregs they can find on youtube and the rest of us will just have to suck it up) :

Big Al. said:
Guys Please don't post youtube clips on this thread unless they are clips of DASHCAMS, this thread is for dashcam clips only and discussions thereafter.

If you wish to discuss Youtube clips of Cyclists then feel free to start a thread in Peddle Power.

Do you have some allergy over starting a RELEVANT thread for the video footage you wish to discuss or do you just enjoy clogging up others?

I find it frankly pathetic that people can't tolerate a few non DashCam threads that are on the road.

Why am I going to go into pedal power to discuss it. I don't cycle. I look on these as a road user or car and motorcycle. Others have similar views and some discussion is sparked.

How many people who don't cycle who drive are going to venture into pedal power section. None.

It just shows how sad ph has got these days. Middle age men blow a fuse because someone posts a link that's clearly labelled that they don't need to click.
I find it quite frankly pathetic that you can't get it into your thick head that there are sub-forums here for a purpose, ie. a place to post topics that match the sub-forum description which, in your case, is the Pedal Powered forum for your dreary cyclist videos.

If no-one is going to venture into that forum to discuss them then that is the confirmation you need that they are uninteresting and no-one cares for them.

The dashcam thread (for DASHCAM footage) ran largely fine until you and others started spamming your cyclist videos which as per usual are all complete non-events and are only posted for clickbait reasons that gullible fools like you hand to them on a plate. Predictably, every single cyclist video results in 18 pages of arguments with neither side backing down and myself and others are sick to death of coming to the thread to watch new DASHCAM footage and being unable to find any because someone's spammed it with another 10 pages of predictable dull cyclist bullst.

You even said this yourself :

I find him infuriating. I only watch them to get more offended
He "infuriates" you but yet you still actively go looking for his content! You're not the brightest crayon in the box, are you?

Post in the correct sub-forum. If they're as interesting as you like to make out then people will follow.

How frightfully sad and pathetic. Have you that little going on in your life that you took the time to structure an argument for the attention of the moderator's.

It's 8pm, I could understand if it was done at work and your getting paid while doing this but you actually sat there, ignoring the other half (though you maybe single, I'm guessing so) cherry picked and edited some of my posts.

Why? Oh because I posted one post of a cyclist "dashcamera" that is a regular feature on the thread Long, long before I posted minrs. He generates a lot of heated debate, frustration and hilarity. Yet the dashcam police come out and tell me that as it's not mounted on a dash it has no place on the thread. The first cycling video this year I believe.

Dashcam could be seen as a general term, many would view that as videos on the public highway. But no your Adam ant it has to be mounted to a dash. So now that excludes motorbikes, rear facing cameras and cameras on the windscreen by your logic. You want these in they're own sub forum like the world will explode with a few of these flung in on GG.

You seem to think that I should go into pedal power when I don't cycle, to post one video in a thread of its own. Really. This happens in bike banter from time to time and it's always met with, wtf are you showing us this for.

GG has a high footfall. Much higher than pedal power or bike banter. Many enjoy seeing some of these controversial videos that aren't filmed on a dashcam, the majority of these people don't cycle or ride a bike so would never see clips they enjoy or love to hate if these only featured in specialist forums.

Utterly pathetic arse licking starting this thread on its own. I get what you say. I just don't give a fk what you think. I'll continue to post until I'm banned from it. If I'm banned. More so to piss you off. You are the reason why people are turning away from ph these days. Pedantic fuds.

You can post what you like as long as it's within the forum rules, whether members want to post on it I've no idea. Or you could always use the official Youtube thread.

As for the Dashcam thread please lets keep it dashcam related.

Thank you. smile

I don't care where the cyclist stuff is posted so long as it's not clogging up the dashcam thread. Start a helmet cam thread already Wacky Racer! yes

Original dashcam post said:
I thought it might be an idea to create a new topic off the back of the Dash Cam thread. We're talking techs and specs but getting more and more people posting their videos of poor driving they've caught on camera.

It's not really what that thread is for, nor is it "YouTube thread-worthy" so post your clips and comments about poor driving here.

Then we can all argue about how petty it is, how the poster themselves never breaks the law etc with the odd gasp of incredulity at one or two genuinely dangerous clips and keep the dashcam thread on-topic about actual dashcams.
The original post here makes reference numerous times to poor driving standards which have been filmed, but not once mentioned whether it mattered if the camera was mounted on the dash of a car or bicycle or motorbike or cctv etc. From reading the original post above its clear that the intent is for the thread to be about poor driving rather than being about the mounting surface which the camera is attached.
If its not how about where the camera is attached to the windscreen?

So I assume all the off topic posts by big al and all that jazz on that thread will be deleted and the posters banned from the thread as promised wink

That's an easy one to counter because all the cyclist videos are of non-events where the driving of the "offender" is perfectly fine and normal but the cyclist is determined to make it into a big issue so he can get some channel clickbait.

This hasn't gone the way you thought it would has it?

The OP talks of generic bad driving, your hung up in the camera being placed on the dash.

You seem to have a thing against the cyclist videos. Fair enough, The easiest thing is rather than try and railroad a whole thread and thousands that enjoy it, is for you to not click on the links that are clearly marked and stop people enjoying a good thread.

This bee you have got in your bonnet helps no one.

Chill man. Maybe start you own thread thread and for "Dashcam videos ONLY in a car" in the title and express exacting rules for thread posts but stop trying to rule this one please.

But in their opinion it is bad driving. Just because you say its not does not make it true. As far as i am concerned everyone is allowed an opinion and i dont recall you being elected as an authority on driving or what can be discussed on the www.
Its about discussion of bad driving and part of that will be whether the driving is or isnt bad. If someone is being over the top or a total drama queen etc
I am not entirely sure that "all" the cyclist videos on youtube etc are the fault of the cyclist!

Perhaps have a read of the original post.............

The opening post it states the purpose of the thread. It was a follow up to the dash cam thread. Where people were asking what dash cam to get but some jumped on it and showed their footage of bad driving.

The thread was started to show bad driving no exceptions, no limitations. It didn't have to be on a dashcam.

Therfore big al and yourself are in the wrong. I expect an apology. And seeing as I was adhering to the original topic I trust I'll be allowed to continue the topic in the nature intended.

Big al I expect a response personal or on here.

roflroflrofl

Thousands? laugh

I don't need to start any such thread because one already exists and serves its purpose perfectly well. It is people such as moanthebairns filling it with off-topic crap that is the problem.

And the thread has gone just fine. Big Al has clarified what the site's stance is on the matter and been perfectly reasonable about it : start a separate thread for cyclist helmet cam clips and don't post them in the dashcam thread. Those that wish to watch footage from both camps can do so and those that only want one or the other can also do so. I don't see what the issue is. Seems like a perfectly good solution to me. yes

Not retrospectively no, the line in the sand was from when I posted on the Dashcam thread.

I would literally have to do a major clear out or prune the thread and some members that posted dashcam stuff would also be remove. smile

This thread (and the David Bowie thread in NP&E) pretty much sums up why I don't really post much here anymore.
Pretty sad really, as I'm pretty sure it was fun once.confused
