Outlook 2003

In Outlook XP, I would read an e-mail, click on 'X' to delete it, and it would go to the next one. In Outlook 2003 when I click on 'X', it goes back to the Inbox. Can anyone tell me how to make it behave like before? I can't find an option in the settings etc.
