Royal Mail - Recent franking fines. Am I alone?
Discussion
I've been sending products via the Royal Mail for the past two years, we do our best to get products within the franking guidelines and as such have never had any issues. In the past 2 weeks we have been receiving large fines, after querying this with them I am still non the wiser as to why. It is claimed that the automated franking machine is flagging our items as the incorrect size, which is madness as it is claimed on the 5th Jan we had 57 failures, despite sending practically the same goods on the 6th we had zero.
Is it just me, or have the Royal Mail changed something?

How big are your fines? We occasionally get the odd thing through if we've flagged something as a letter and it should be larger letter but then it's only a quid or so. We get stern letters if we take something to a different post office or we pop something in the post box, they don't like that but there's never a fine.
Is your franking machine up to date?

I always get the slap on the wrist letters, but never a fine
Common reasons are:
1. You should put an elastic band round your mail before dropping it in the box
2. You put your franked post in the wrong box
3. You posted your franked mail a day late (worked late and missed last collection)
