Radio Gear - 3channel plus model memory?
Discussion
Need some advice please all. I purchased a Traxxas T-Maxx last year, which I haven't been able to run yet due to it being sold to me with 2 channel radio gear
As I am slowly accumulating a reasonable selection of models, it makes sense to buy something that can run multiple models, but I am unsure on a couple of things.
Firstly, the T-Maxx needs Forward/Neutral/Reverse on the 3rd channel. Do all 3ch setups have a 3 way switch or do I need to buy carefully?
With the different model memories, does the Tx stay 'bound' to the relevant receiver for each model?
Finally can anyone recommend one please?
The ones I have seen at a sensible price point are:
Absima CR3P
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=3...
Flysky FS GT3C
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FS-GT3C-Flysky-Car-Trans...
Any suggestions please? Want to get out bashing

The ebay one doesn't mention having memory that I can see.
I would suggest that buying from Modelsport would be the best option anyway.
Never heard of Absima, but I see they do a Spektrum @ £79, which is a name which has been around for a while:

I'd give Modelsport a call and have a chat, they've always been very helpful when I've called them in the past.

I had the CR3P which I sold because we can't get on with wheel sets, I bought 2 brand new and sold them about a week ago.
Honestly it's a nice set, as far as I could tell however the multi model memory stores settings but doesn't allow you to do what I wanted which was function like an old analogue set with crystals and multiple receivers carrying the same crystal, in other words I wanted one transmitter and multiple models I could just use with no messing around re-binding. You do need to rebind, and I think that applies to most radios.
But for the price that CR3P is excellent it feels like it's much more expensive than it is, the screen is lovely, but they are quite complex.

You DO NOT need to rebind with the CR3P, were you changing the model memory number?Honestly it's a nice set, as far as I could tell however the multi model memory stores settings but doesn't allow you to do what I wanted which was function like an old analogue set with crystals and multiple receivers carrying the same crystal, in other words I wanted one transmitter and multiple models I could just use with no messing around re-binding. It's a great radio, and the FlySky uses the same software, just laid out differently.
Also interested in this -
I have a 3ch Etronix wheel and trigger which is great, but the 3rd channel is a bit hit-and-miss, it's a slider switch with two positions. The endpoints can be adjusted, but it's a bit pants and therefore only ever used for remotely switching lights on and off - even then it's been a bit problematic!
I want a cheap setup with forwards / neutral / reverse on the 3rd channel purely to operate a winch on my crawler. Too many hours playing Spintires on the PC (which is epic if you don't yet know about it).
It'll never get used but it's nice to know that it 'could' be operated, especially for just a small outlay. And if I have two transmitters I can finally rope someone else into playing too!
