sticky caliper

Hello all.
My front nearside brake has started to pull a bit. I suspect a sticky caliper.
Are they easy ish to remove?
Any noddy guides?

They are an allan key headed bolt x 2, and it faces inwards, so access is not ideal.
My advice, having done the job before with allan keys and then lost a calliper bolt is to get a suitable set of allan key sockets before you start.

Mike, if you're not over keen on doing this yourself take the car to Alan at Elberton garage and he will sort quickly and relatively inexpensively! ( he runs his own Chimaera and Cerbera and is doing a lot of the Bristol boys cars).

Hello Mike, long time no hear My Chim` had the same problem, those allen bolts were a pain. As mentioned before, a good set of allen keys is beneficial, once they are out the rest is easy.

Mach 2 is right - we all (except me) want to do as much as possible on our Blackpool Meccano kits ourselves, but some jobs are far better done by someone who has done them 100 times before and has the knowledge and the right tools.

For those who like to/want to play Meccano themselves, a complete socket set is such a bonus. I have banged on about this before, but the second best ever Christmas present I have had from my dear wife is this:

Ian! Stents good lord, hope you are on now mate and if you could send me a fb link I will join. Poor old trev hardly ever gets out. I need to decat it as well......

I think I have an Allen socket set too....trouble is I'm getting lazy in my old age and need to get my hands dirty again.

Saying that it's a lot easier to let someone else do it

Hi Mike, sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he gets well soon mate, I`m working in Bristol, at Filton, but on loan down at western approach. I do some strange shifts, but meet up is a great idea.

You can buy a 7mm calliper tool and it is well worth the money. To do the rears get yourself a wind back tool.
