Yesterday I went to the Historic Aircraft Company at Duxford. Spent the afternoon in the company of pilots Charlie Brown and Dave Harvey, the back room team and owners.
After an opening coffee and welcome chat, we were taken to the Battle of Britain hanger, where "Harvs" talked about the Hurricane and Charlie spoke about bothe the 109 and the Spitfire. We were let in on some of the characteristics and some of their stories. Next up was a walk over to their aircraft themselves, and hands on time with the Hawker Fury, Hurricane and Spitfire Vb. The highlight being a sit in the Spit and a 1-1 chat with Charlie while sat in.
Sitting in you realise how snug it is, but also how the great visibility is, and, sat on the ground all you can see is nose (and the Griffon was longer)
Ended the day back in their office with the team chatting with them. Started at 1-30, ended at 5, and was the best afternoon Ive spent there. Next one is 29th Frbruary and I can't recomend it enough
