Metropole blue interior help - Hampshire or nearby

Hi,
I'm interested in buying a car; specs / history look good but it's got Metropole blue leather interior and I'm undecided.
I'd like to see it in the fresh but the car is located over 400 miles away.
If there are any Metropole blue owners in Hampshire or nearby countries, who wouldn't mind me dropping by to have a look, it'd be most appreciated. (996 preferred but 986 Boxster is fine also)

I had a 996 C4S in lapis blue with a metropole interior. It was quite a dark colour and I didn't have any issues with it at all. Then again, I am not a fan of a totally black interior and prefer something a little different (dark blue, grey, cocoa but not beige or red) and less likely to induce claustrophobia.

When I bought my current car, I commented that "I've been looking for a Seal Grey Turbo with black interior for ages.." It was a few days after I got it home and was reading through the paperwork that I first realised it was Metropole, that's how dark and discrete it is 
. Granted when I viewed the car it was in a workshop and it was winter, but it really is a subtle colour and in most lights it doesn't look very blue and most people who see my car are surprised when I tell them the interior is blue. The carpets are the most "colourful" thing, but they look good too. It's darker than the Metropole they did on earlier cars apparently, or so I was told when buying some leather cream.

Agree with all the above. I wanted anything but grey, and ended up with metropole blue. At first I was ambivalent, but now I love it. To all intents and purposes (and anyone you haven't told) it's black. Then after a while you realise it's nice being somewhere that isn't all black and just has a hint of being lighter.
Best see a 996 imho because you need the coupe cabin and headlining for full effect, but I'm near Bristol, not Hampshire...

If it helps, same as that. I also bought a 996 C4 a few years ago, also in Lapis Blue, and with Metropole blue leather. I'm also usually quite conservative with regards to interiors, and looking at the advert pictures of the car I was interested in, I was convinced that I wouldn't like it. I was looking to drop North of 30 grand on a car, which for me, was a bleedin fortune - and I was also very scared of making any kind of bad decision too obviously.I had a 996 C4S in lapis blue with a metropole interior. However when I viewed the car, drove it, and spent a few minutes with it - I was surprised at how quickly I accepted, and started to become quite fond of, the Metropole leather inside. And it then wasn't long before I decided that it was actually pretty preferable to the usual boring, run of the mill black leather option too. Once I had bought the car, then I spent many a happy afternoon feeding and polishing the leather, and it always it looked really very fine indeed!
As you say though, you need to view it for yourself - but I hope our comments have helped, and I am sure that you will also like it as we have done too.
If you had said Savannah leather though, then the comments would have clearly been quite different, lol!

Just to update this thread, I met with the very generous Mad March Taffy yesterday who showed me around his car.
I can conclude that Metropole Blue does indeed look very nice; as Renmure described above: dark hue, subtle and classy. I reckon it would suit silver, blue and white car really well.
Anyway, on Wed I saw a different car advertised; after meeting with Mad March Taffy yesterday I went to view it, and have just paid a deposit. It’s got black interior.
