I know this is very probably a straight answer, but looking for confirmation.

Chap I know in my village (no, not me) got drunk on Saturday afternoon after a fall out with his ex, proceeds to drive down the main street like a loon and smashes into a parked lorry delivering to the local superemarket.

Would I be totally correct to assume he will receive nothing for his car as he was charged with DD? I know mine does, but do all policies these days invalidate your cover if caught driving under the influence of drink or drugs?

Thanks.

Mine is the same. No idea if it applies to all, but would bet on it.

No, not all policies have that exclusion. Direct Line, to name just one, don't have it.

So it depends on who he's insured with.

Correct. Admiral have the exclusion, but most don't.

Thanks for that. Cheers!
