The Zoe is so good that it is being used more than I expected when I leased it.

The 24 month deal I did on 17 Dec 2014 was initially for 7,500 miles / year on the battery and 9,000 miles / year on the car.

Excess on the car is 5p / mile. I don't recall what the excess is on the battery just now, but will find out soon enough from Renault Finance.

Currently the car is on 13,012 miles, so a run rate of 1,020 per month and a projected total of 24,500 over the term. I don't see that going down.

Other than just carrying on regardless and then paying the excess at the end of the term, what options do I have as I get nearer to the contracted mileage?

Contact the Finance Company and chat it through with them.

They may offer you a recalculated rate for the remaining lease.

Or it may be just cheaper to pay the excess.

Cheers

Have left a message for someone to call me back. Based on my dealings with Renault on other matters, they might get to me before the lease runs out in December...

I think it's around 6p. Remember the figure being around 11-12p per mile when I asked about mine.

By the way, I'm actually in a similar situation to yourself. Will be going over our as even with the excess mileage charge it still works out cheaper than using my diesel vectra and it's far nicer to drive!

Excess mileage charges on RCI agreements are normally 8p per mile on the car.

I think the battery hire is 7.5p per mile.

Call RCI and see if they are willing to change it. I don't think they will as obviously it affects the GFV and the agreement as a whole.

Check that the limits are the same for the battery and the car - a lot of people seem to have agreements where the battery is allowed to do more miles than the car is.
Must be a french thing?
