Hi guys, just need a part reference for the air filter on the TVR S1 2.8, I presume its off a ford, i have checked online at the alternate parts list & it just quotes a pipecross one but I'm sure that's for the S2 onwards..
Was looking to upgrade mine to a high performance one, better filteration & let in 30% more air apparently?.. (saw ed china upgrading one on a scooby
) Pictures are not exact ones but you get the idea

Hi Steve,
I just bought a new air filter for my S1 last week.
It's a Mann C26 109 from Eurocarparts
Alternative is a Mahle LX 119
There should ne a part no printed on the side of your old filter.
A word of caution, a potential problem exists with the rivets through the airbox casing corroding and falling out, which can not only be drawn into the air intake of the fuel metering unit, but the holes left mean that air can be drawn into the engine without passing through the filter, gumming up the delicate K-Jetronic unit.
This was brought to our attention by Richard ( greymrj ), and I think this is a cause of the power loss that Austin is suffering.
Give yours a thorough examination and rectify as required.

Nice one Glenn appreciated, i have had a look at mine thankfully the rivets seemed to be fine, but definitely worth noting! Ive ran into just about every other issue I just bought a new air filter for my S1 last week.

Just received the k&n air filter (capri mk3 2.8i) part no# 33-2001, its completely the wrong size for the 2.8 S1 air filter, could anyone confirm the correct part number please?
Having a browse through the forum via google someone mentioned this.. http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/product.aspx?pro...
Ive cross referenced it with the mann part & had no luck, even the live chat on 'K&N' official website couldn't shed no light on it, but it is used in the ford granada, scorpio, sierra & the TVR Tasmin (which looks like it shares the same airbox looking at underbonnet pictures but cant be certain.. hmm :/)

Hi Glenn, i do have the standard air filter in already like the one in the pic you posted, i was just keen on upgrading it to a K&N air filter but thank you for the measurements..
Closest one to those measurements seems to be the 'K&N 33-2013' (granada, sierra, scorpio, tvr tasmin)
Outside Length 9.875 in (251 mm)
Outside Width 8.25 in (210 mm)
