AA parts & labour cover plus.

I see lots of threads about poor service from warranty companies, so if you get a good service, I think it's only fair you also post a thread.
Here's mine.
Last week, my Cerb's clutch bit the dust, the AA came out & recovered the car & took it to TVR power in Coventry, Dom @ Power calls them & says the clutch fingers have snapped. They asked him to fix the vehicle & to ask me to post them the old clutch.
Yesterday I sent them the clutch & today they rang back to say, we're sending you a cheque less your £25 excess & please send us a bill for your carriage charge & we will send you a seperate cheque for it.
Superb service.
To clear up another thread I've recently seen, the lad at AA said that it's "an insurance policy for when we have to recover your vehicle, not a warranty"
Don't know the difference myself & don't care
He also apologised for asking for the clutch to be sent, apparently it's something to do with it being a "branded part"
Again, great service & £99 well spent

The AA P&L has been cancelled for new applications. Their underwriter has seen more money going out than coming in so they are re-evaluating. I have AA P&L+ and spoke with them yesterday. They are uncertain at this time whether they are going to allow existing customers to renew when their term is up. The web site says they won't be renewing but the P&L staff say that's just a positional statement, they haven't made that decision yet.
BTW if you have basic AA P&L and want to upgrade to P&L+ today is your last chance. No upgrades after midnight tonight.

I have RAC parts and labour cover. I have just had a gearbox problem and when I called them having taken the insurance out after a cold call from the RAC over the phone in April last year, I asked for details of how to claim and they informed me that I cannot because I have changed the car and they do not have record of it on their system.
The cover relates to the specific car and not the member as I thought!
If you change your car, you have to update the insurers with the new one. THIS THEY DID NOT TELL ME!!!

from me. They've paid out on 2 claims up to now, with no problems. The parts and labour plus is no longer avalable, as from this month. Its just the standard (£500/claim)
