Yes, it could be just this particular joint...if leaking, will drop system pressure and pressure safety switch will kick-in, switching boiler off. Where you've re-filled/re-pressurized your system via the filling loop, did you re-fill when system was hot or cold? Ideally fill when cold to required pressure e.g. 1-1.5bar, the system will allow for expansion and contraction. Also, post re-fill and prior to re-firing...did you check for any trapped air? If not, most systems have one or two radiators that trap air...usually the highest point/radiator in the system. Continue to monitor your system pressure for a week or so, noting any water pressure reduction. If present there's another leak elsewhere. To end, be sure to turn off both valves on the filling loop flexible...this is the cold water feed to the boiler.

Sounds like it might be an automatic air valve - which can develop leaks over time.

The bit you tightened up is intended to vent air to atmosphere, so should be 'open'.

It needs replacing.
