XBone - able to login whilst offline?

Hi all,

I'm currently waiting for my internet provider to switch over and have no connectivity at present. I'm trying to login to my gamer profile on the Xbox One and it is asking me to connect to the Internet.

I have read that it is possible to sign in (offline) to play single player games, but for the life of me I can't get it to work.

I've set the Xbox to 'offline' and have made it my 'home Xbox' in the settings menus.

Am I trying the impossible? Any help appreciated..!

I was of the impression you needed an always on 'internet connection' to play the Xbox One?
