I recently saw the LG 55UF680V on sale in Currys for a reasonable price and decided to give it a go. I cant get on with the amount of motion judder, blurring and general lack of smoothness.

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertain...

I've spoken to LG customer services and tried everything they have suggested from playing with the picture settings, to ensuring that my devices (Virgin tivo and xbox One) are plugged in with an HDMI 2.0 cable. I think I have tried every combination of settings and it still has a horrible amount of jerkiness, judder, blur etc.. When I try to watch something I end up feeling like my eyes are strained. I was watching my Dad's (more expensive) Tv last night and it was smooth and comfortable to watch.

I'm not beginning to suspect that the deal was a little too good to be true and that it may just be a low end model. If I have to pay a bit more to get what I want then so be it but I dont know if I can just take it back for an exchange. (I've emailed customer services this morning to find out)

Has anyone had any experience with this TV or similar and if so, is there anything else I should try? What are my chances of getting an exchange towards something better?

How long have you had it? Did you order online? If so you have 14 days to return in 'original condition'.

I bought it on Jan 1st. I've been speaking to LG and Currys customer services since the 6th trying to get to the bottom of the issue. Now I think that I have exhausted the options. Apparently Currys only offer exchanges on items of an equal or lower value (no idea why)

If I walk in to the store and say its faulty will they allow me to change it for a different one or will they plug it in and say it's how its meant to be.

I dont know how to approach this matter

I wouldn't hold out much hope, they will resist all the way, anything that's been opened will be rejected, might be worth a try though. 21 days so you don't have much time!

From their website.

Yeah I dont fancy my chances but the guy I spoke to at customer services said that the individual store managers have the final say so it might be worth trying.

Well they agreed to refund the telly and we now have a credit note so that we can put some thought into what to replace it with. So any suggestions for a 55" 4K TVs with a decent refresh rate up to £800 would be most welcome!!

If I watch it for too long, I can feel my eyes straining. Horrendous TV that might have "an accident" pretty soon.

I was getting eye strain watching mine. No problem with my old Samsung or my dad's Samsung either
