If I have an auction, and it states sending in 3 days after clearance of payment, I guess that means 3 days after I receive said payment
Clearly some think that infers immediately after the auction ends on a Sunday night.
I now have an absolute bell end rambling and ranting about postage, late deliveries, accusatory missives, all from someone whose grasp of the English language closely resembles that of a chimp.

Why the hell do we bother?

Don't use it then. It's not rocket science.

There are loads of eBay rants on PH, usually every few days.

Just had to vent my spleen in a moderated fashion, irked/miffed the idiots spoil it for everyone.

Now, what alternatives do we have I can play with?
Input gladly received.

Sold a pair of sunglasses on that site a few years back.

Chap who won the auction sent me a message demanding his money back as he thought they were fake.

I explained that they weren't and send a copy of my original receipt. He then replaied with something along the lines of...

"soz mate, bad times, bad times"...

I honestly do have a good experience of gumtree, but only if you're willing to price a bit lower than average.

I put some table on ebay before crimbo, was hoping for something, but ended up with 1 bid for 99p. Pick up only. So there's a bit of back and forth with the buyer over the next few weeks, I gave her my phone number so that she could just call me to arrange pickup. I suspected she wouldn't bother, but she won the auction, I feel that I shouldn't just give it away to charity, so on we go.

I just want rid of this thing, as it's in the way.

I finally messaged her last night, fairly curt, 'Are you going to be able to collect this soon?'

...and the reply was, 'I'm so sorry, I forgot. Our neighbour was killed outside our house last week.'

Looked it up, and sure enough it was true. I replied with my condolences and for her to take her time.

Continue with ebay, but state cash on collection.
If people message you asking "will you post?" (and they will - loads of them) you have two replies:
1) No, i thought "cash on collection" was pretty clear
2) Yes, but only if you pay via bank transfer (removes their precious paypal security and saves you fees - means they will be much less likely to kick up a fuss because ebay would say to them "you're on your own with that seller as you didnt use paypal"). If they dont like the sound of that, refer them to option 1)

Was she going halves with the neighbour? Not quite sure why that means she doesn't want the tablelaugh

Just do a non-paying bidder thing & relist it at a fixed price - buyer to collect & pay cash.

Heh. I got the impression that she was quite close to them and is comforting the bereaved widow. For the sake of a quid, I'll give her another week and then get a chezza to pick it up.

Maybe she only needed the table as she had invited her neighbour over for tea?

Tell her the table would be perfect for hosting a post-funeral finger buffet ...

Out of interest, why do you want to wait three days after payment is cleared before you send the item?

In my case it's because selling stuff on ebay isn't what I do for a living, I have a full time job as well as a family and three days gives me the time to pack (because there is no point packing it if they collect or it doesn't sell) and send it.
