Tar Stain removal
Discussion
I have acquired some tar stains on the plastic painted lower sills of my 997 (stone chip protected area) which will not shift! So far have tried wd40, t-cut, super resin polish, tar and bug remover, olive oil, petrol.
All of these will shift tar off the paintwork, just not off of the sill!
Does anybody have any other suggestions for removal? Alternatively, I would be grateful for recommendations of a good autobody shop in the Surrey area that may be able to offer some advice.
Thanks. Stewart

If you haven't tried autoglym's tar remover, give it a go. I've used it in the past and it's bloody brilliant.
If that fails to shift it, try using ethanol (methylated spirits), as that's a pretty good solvent for tar, and won't damage the paintwork at all.
If that fails, use petrol, which again shouldn't harm the paintwork, but should be an even better solvent for tar, it's just a tad less pleasant to use.
If that fails try a bodyshop, as I'm out of ideas
