Does anyone know if the AJP Airboxes are repairable? The outlets where the silicon hoses connect have been crushed on mine due to the use of jubilee clips. I wondered if the outlets could be removed and replaced or is it new boxes?

The 4.5 airboxes have a detachable "back plate" that the induction hoses fix on to, but there are different diameter hoses these days. ACT do a carbon fibre backplate for both diameter hoses, but they're not cheap...they also do the whole airbox in CF...but very not cheap!!

Fibreon (www.damagedtvrs.co.uk) may have GRP versions of the backplates, but best to give them a call.

I always intended to do this, but never got around to it.

Or for £250 you could get a pair of ACT carbon fibre backplates

I repaired mine by cutting a ring of standard stainless exhaust pipe slitting it popping it inside and epoxied in. Simples.

Hi All

ACT Carbon Fibre Airbox Backplates were one of the best upgrades I've bought over the last 11 years.

£234 inc VAT at todays prices too. Seems expensive but well worth it if you ask me.

Much stronger than standard, look quite nice too and never been a problem even using upgraded, increased width, stainless steel jubilee clips.

Wanted the whole airboxes for a while too now but they are £780 inc VAT without backplates (which I already have in carbon) from ACT.

Kind regards
Simon

I remember seeing a carbon fibre-a-like dipping process featured on an episode of Wheeler Dealers.
I guess that you could use the ACT backplates and dip the boxes scratchchin

From THESE GUYS apparently.

That film crap won't last long in a hot engine bay. It also doesn't really look like real carbon....
