I have some Santander shares via the original Abbey National demutualisation.

These are held in a Nominee Account.

I'm considering selling them but the information out there is a bit patchy (plenty of help to buy them of course).

Has anyone sold, and if so what was involved and what do I need to look out for.

thanks

They're way down off their highs, where near £8, now around £3, unless you're desperate for the money I'd leave them.

Are they held via the Santander share holder account?

I'm not desperate to sell but knowing how these thing usually work you have to register for some sort of account first and get it activated blah blah so better to be ready when the time comes.

They are in a Shareholder Account - I don't have any certificates.

You need to register with the Santander Shareview service - all done online but they then have to send you an activation code (by post) to access the service fully. So you are right, it will take a bit of time.
