At around 1:35 there is a slow motion bit.

Why would the gear stick vibrate around as much as that? Doesn't look healthy for the gearbox.

true, it's a very slippery track. 'green' with nobody else on it.
but they don't know how to drive either....

The engine, box and diff are all mounted on rubber you know, of course it will move around.

I know we were all born driving gods on here, but you've got to give those guys some credit. They have no idea what they're doing but give it a go anyway. The S2000 driver actually looks to be figuring it out towards the end (5:45 ish).

Where else is he supposed to learn how to drive a rwd other than on a track?

You could potter around slow so that the back doesn't loose out but at some point you push it a bit faster and so on.

I guess a instructor could teach you how to save it or you could do a drift day and constantly loose and save the back end, but nobody just got in a car and knew what to do when the back of the cars sliding around without being taught.

Re the guy in the video , if he just can't get to grips with it sell the s2000 get a fwd hatch or awd subaru/evo and start enjoying track days and getting fast.

Sure the guy could do better and in fairness he is quite calm everytime he spins, but reading some of the utube comments I really struggle to understand the necessity for the venom in some of the comments.

my observations were: hold steering wheel oddly, seems very slow to react and I feel like I can see him approach the corners either to quickly or too weirdly.

Unless he's been taught how to react how's he supposed to know what to do?

Say it's your 1st track day you get instruction there not going to be showing you how to slide the back around and catch it.

The problem isn't so much the guy doesn't know what he's doing, it's that he's repeatedly driving beyond his abilities. If you aren't comfortable catching a sliding car, that's fine, but in that case don't slide the car.

This guy keeps cluelessly provoking the car in the same way over, and over again, like a calf that hasn't learnt not to sniff the electric fence.
