991 Targa 2??

This has baffled me guys..

Driving home from work this afternoon, I spot a white 911 about 5 cars ahead. As he drives around the bend ahead, I notice it's the rather cool 991 Targa.

But I then realise it has the rear end of a '2' - that being clear tail lights and no red reflector strip.

I couldn't get close enough to pick up the registration or the badging, but I'm 99% sure this is what I saw.

So I'm baffled as I'm pretty sure there was / is only the Targa 4, and no Targa 2 variant, and the clear rears are only available on the '2' models.

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? Could it be possible the car has a '2' rear end swap as an option?

Presumably nothing more exciting than the owner simply purchased replacement parts.
