Having started considering (and pretty much discounted) paying inflated GT4 prices, it a logical leap to think about what else you could get for under £110k.

These two are of interest, but I wonder if voodoo blue is the kind of colour which looks great in a showroom but less so day-to-day:

Edited - doh; inflated GT4 prices.

Personally not feeling that at all. Black wheels that blend in with the rubber after a few miles..nah.
The colour.... really the reserve of the GT models IMO

The bright colours, should be red, yellow, white or silver.
Leave the blues, greens and oranges to the race-bred stuff....again IMO.

Looks fab in voodoo apart from the black wheels, horrible.

With silver wheels they would be perfect.

yeah sorry, meant GT3, GT2 stuff
GTS is a super dooper Carrera...more subtle
No offence everyone I just can't stand black wheels, with no design definition, all that thought and flair lost because you can't make it out, especially covered in road grime and/or brake dust. Nasty.
For really dark wheels to work, you either have to be OCD with the cleaning or it should have some polished dish (Fuchs).
I had very dark gorgeous wheels on my Brera S.
I had sufficient OCD wheel cleaning rules.

Wheels like those on the GTS, just no.
And bright blue on a Porsche is very risky, unless it has graphics or other brave contrasting bodywork detail...968 Clubsport, GT3 RS etc.

I'm just providing a counter point to the current trend thats all. One day black alloys will be seen the same as 3 spoke alloys. In the early 90's, cool as hell...few years later: what were they thinking?! wink

As I recall the standard 991 GTS centre-locks were black. No silver option was standard via the configurator.

Just thought I would throw that incase peeps start looking for GTS cars without black wheels.....

Fitting 5 stud wheels might prove tricky too.

I know what you mean, I much prefer the 997 GTS wheels with the silver rim, looks more classic.

Oooh, loving the blue and the design of the wheels on the second car are fantastic. Im in agreement with the others though, not convinced on black wheels with a blue car.

Would you buy a new 991.1 now rather than wait for a 991.2? Whats the cost saving?

Think they look great. Would totally have a blue 911 if I had the stones, and love black wheels in general (have them on my GTS, but it's a cab, so they kind of have a roof to go with. I do wonder if silver might look better on a coupe). My vote would be for the one with the silver stitching on the interior. Red a bit much with the blue imo but it's all personal opinion.

And while we're on personal opinions, I totally don't hold with the 'this colour should or shouldn't be for a certain model' stuff. Just get the colour you like best, and if you irritate a few 'purists', well, that's fun too. Then again, some people put massive GT3 wings on Carreras and that irritates me, so I guess we all have our limits!

I didn't notice the sticking colour, why would you go for red in a blue car. No accounting for taste I guess. I also totally agree with the external colour choice, go for the colour you like regardless of model. Its to make you smile, not anyone else. The blues fantastic and now on the top of my list. cloud9

Yeah, the red stitching may be a bit much. I'm not usually a fan of black wheels but I think they may work.

Presumably this is heresy :

That's totally why we all have opinions though right? and I'm guessing the reason for the OP's question...to garner the consensus.

Happy to be in the minority smile

I agree though, OP Get what makes you happy!

The Voodoo GTS at Cardiff OPC is a great looking car both in the ad and in the flesh. The black wheels work imho.

I can totally understand that you'd be loath to pay the £30K or so premium for a GT4, but even with that, it's definitely the safest place for your cash.

+1

Or the boxster Spyder some good deals on those and bound to rise in value with such a limited run!
