Yet another one gone

Not a major high-profile name, best known as the bass player with Last In Line, Dio and Rainbow.

I saw him at the last Last In Line show in London, and was one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

I saw him and Brian Robertson at the Notts Boat Club years ago,

Both were completely plastered.

How they managed to play, in time, was something that still amazes me today.

For some reason I always thought Roger Glover was a long term Bassist in Rainbow - I now know I was wrong.

He's also on one of my favourite Kate Bush tracks (who knows how...) - Get Out Of My House.

You and me both. I saw them when they last played here, and were absolutely awesome and was so looking forward to seeing them again.

Circa 1980, me to then girlfriend "What's this dog end doing in this empty fag packet?" girlfriend to me "Don't throw it away it's Jimmy Bain's dog end". She had been to see Wild Horses at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.
R.I.P Jimmy, another part of my youth passes away.

He co-wrote Old Town with Phil Lynott which I was surprised to hear I have to admit.
