Just got back from Geneva and thought I'd recommend the museum for those that have 't been.

I like my watches but couldn't call myself a collector and my other half isn't interested particularly but given it was a cheap getaway we thought we would stop by for 10F.

The place as you would imagine is very finely decorated and over four floors. You start at the top with the older history of PP and work down through a floor of selected examples of all types of watch/timepieces. A floor of just PP and finally the replication of the old craftsman benches.

If anything it's a little overwhelming. Sad to say that by the end the start to meld into one!

That said it was an interesting tour and I guess if you were better educated on movements or particular styles you would enjoy it even more.

Criticisms? It was very warm in the building and the AV was very old fashioned and needed updating. I'm really picking at things though.

Nice. Thanks for the review. I might go when I can get away for a few days.

I've been, and I agree it is very good.

However, so is the Museum d'Horologie, which is north of Geneva and if you are heading that way then hit the Omega museum too. Wrong side of the country for you? The the IWC museum in Schaffhausen is worth a visit, as is the jeweler in Zurich, Beyer - they have some really varied stuff, from clocks to Daniels pocket watches through everything else.

I visit Switzerland a lot, which is both brilliant and dangerous for the wallet. The easyjet flight to Geneva is cheaper than a curry at The Spice of India on Rue d'lausanne (but worth it!)
