Can anyone confirm if the boxed version of this game is Mac compatible? The game on STEAM shows it's Mac requirements to play it but the boxed version doesn't appear to mention Mac compatibility?

I assumed you mean Homeworld.

If it doesn't say so I doubt it is.
The disc will probably only contain a windows executable or possibly even steam client (does it say steam required on the box).
One of the reviews on Amazon states it needs steam to activate so you will probably be fine. Just need to put the key into Steam.

I'd just buy it from Steam directly, couldn't find any deals much better than amazon which was only £2 less than Steam price.

Just wait for one of the numerous Steam sales, I picked this up for less than a tenner on the last one.

Thanks guys. It's currently £14.99 instead of £19.99 in GAME whereas it's £26.99 (!) on Steam. Quite a difference. The boxed version simply mentions the PC system requirements and doesn't say Steam key included or required for activation. So when asked the GAME sales guy the said it was unlikely to be cross platform compatible unlike its Steam download version. But £12 more for the same thing off Steam tells me to wait in the hope of a sale as mentioned on here.
