Is it like the last of the Brazilian rainforest tribes walking out of the jungle because there is simply no food left?
Anyway, we haven't been here long and we'll be gone soon enough. Not that the rest of the animal kingdom is lacking in violence and death, but we humans do have to accept all the blame for greed, war, and Mariah Carey.

Sperm whales cannot feed in the North Sea - not sure if it's a depth issue or a fauna issue but either way, they got lost and starved. These 5 were a bachelor pod, not juveniles but youngish by whale standards. Anyway, we haven't been here long and we'll be gone soon enough. Sperm whales are doing pretty well population wise, it's definitely not a 'no food left' problem in general, just this lot got very very unlucky.
If you find this stuff interesting check out the british divers marine life rescue and/or the irish whale and dolphin group.
I love the arrogance of man.
Some whales are dead. Must have been us, nothing else could kill them.
How are we sure that they didn't meet some double hard nutter jellyfish? a really aggressive pack of whelks? Conversation with the Dolphin equivalent of Russel Brand and they agreed "we don't want to live in this ocean any more"?

Hmmmm... to be fair, almost all of the people I really don't like are humans
Good point. It's the same for me, although the one I like the least appears to be a silicon based lifeform bred from intergalactic toilet scum salvaged from the Roswell crash. It's the only way to explain his grey appearance & utter lack of interpersonal skills.

I can't bring to mind any purely evil or greedy animals, humans I can think of plenty.
Wasps.Honey Badgers.
The Rabbit of Caerbannog.

Cats yes, we'll have cats. They kill just for fun, that's evil.

But let's face it, compared to humans animals are pretty vice free.
