Jaguar Mk 9 (E Type Engine)

I have one of the above and the engine has a tight sport meaning it won't turn and needs a rebuild according to the firm it's currently sat with.

As a 'ball park' does anyone know what the cost for a rebuild for one of these engines should be? It's the 3.8 litre so a very common engine from this era. I just want to see if my idea on cost for a rebuild is way out compared to what the firm has indicated it will be. I almost had to sit down when he indicated how much it would cost!!

excellnet! I've spoken to VCS and it apepars they are around half the cost of the current quote

You won't be disappointed. Mine ours now. Might be a few month's wait though.
