Does anyone think this is a good thing?

If it was purely for our health, then they would reduce the price and the size. It's profiteering, plain and simple. Been happening all across the industry - chocolate bars getting smaller, tins of Quality Street/Roses etc getting smaller, less crisps in packets... but all remaining at the same price. Massive con trick.

Doesn't seem like a wholly bad thing. If you accept the 6 cubes of sugar thing, then bringing delicious sugary snacks down a bit works for the manufacturer as well as the consumer.

I'd rather the manufacturer did something than the Government, actually.

Noel Clarke, executive director of brand building for Unilever UK & Ireland said: “We have introduced this 250 calorie cap to help make it easier for our consumers to make informed and healthier choices when enjoying their favourite ice-creams as part of a balanced lifestyle.”

My arse. You want to increase your profits, perfectly understandable, but don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

This reminds me of the new Cadburys people taking out two biscuits from a box of Cadbury's fingers.

They justified it by saying they were 'responding to public demand'. I have not bought a Cadbury's product since.

I thought cornettos had already shrunk....they seem miniscule now.

As alluded to by others, it is bugger all to do with health - it is profit, plain and simple, and everyone is at it.

All that jazz

yesyesyes

Choc bars are my current piss-boiler. I'm sure they've become even smaller again recently - just grab yourself a Snickers and they're now barely bigger than the original fun size ones you used to get. I would much rather they'd kept them at their original size and just put the price up if production costs justified it.
