Hi B'stard Child,
I don't know of any reason why this wouldn't work; is this some history here I'm not aware of? Are you experiencing issues with changing your password?
Thanks,
Dom

I tried to change it last night.....
background - it's an old password I've used for years on a few sites because I was lazy - it also used to be on an email account that got hacked (i got it back and changed the password to something different) so I tried a while back to change it but the whole removing duplicate memberships and aligning with the classifieds thing was going on so when it failed then I thought I'll leave it again for a while.
I remember something about new usernames or changes to usernames no longer allowing spaces or special characters too
That's basically the alert I get - it accepts the old password and accepts the new one (twice) but then falls over and says my username has spaces/special characters and I can't change my password......
If it helps I'll try again and take some screenshots but I'm pretty sure that it's probably my PH user name that's throwing it out (has s p a c e s and a ')

All goes well to start with - it appears I have the ability to type the same password twice without error

Then it all goes a bite Pete Tong

Having tried it again it's definately the user name that's causing the issue so I guess I'm stuck with a password that I've had since joining and really isn't that secure

Hi B'stard Child,
I'm afraid nothing that is very helpful for you at the moment. We brought in the rule that usernames can only contain certain characters (A-Z, 0-9, spaces, full stops, hyphens, underscores) after you had joined, and I think that validation is being applied on your username when you try to change your password, which is why it throws an error.
So it is something we need to fix.
Thanks,
Dom

I think the workaround last time was to amend username and password to something acceptable and then request PH to re-instate the original username.
That would be good if that was possible - I know some PH'rs often change their usernames but I'm one of those people that are quite happy with the one I already haveGassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
