Disturbing how the front shock has been ripped clean out. Are the towers aluminium on the GT4?

Strut top tower is most likely cast so fairly brittle. It would make a great base for a Race car....

Cast metals are generally more brittle, well, less ductile, than forged metals. It is a characteristic arising from the grain size and orientation of the grains of cast metal vs. forged metal.

When my 2008 Cayman S was hit some cast iron hardware was fractured. While cast alumumin and iron are tough there is a limit to the forces they can withstand.

There is nothing sinister in that damage. In this case it is just the result of a car encountering something it shouldn't have...

Word is circulating that the owner is now in a silver GT4.....

Thinking is Porsche helped him out.... Not sure but that's a quick recovery either way!!!
