e46 M3 Exhaust help?

Currently building an e46 M3 race car for this years M3 cup...
Only part I am struggling with is the exhaust.
Series rules means we have to run stock manifold, and we have to run cats (race cats fine) the rest of the system is free.
Done a lot of research which suggests most aftermarket stuff doesn't really give you much gain (infact often a loss is incurred) so you have to be quite careful about which sections to change and for what.
I would like the weight loss, and my OEM system is rotten anyway, so I need to find something aftermarket which isn't going to lose me power.
A lot of people love the Supersprint system and it gets a lot of praise, but then others say they still lost power with it and its ~ £2,800 headers back.
Anyone with thoughts and ideas?
