what have you actually installed?

The Gmail notifier? or have you registered with Gmail?

If you want local notification you need to install the notifier as well.. that should automatically launch at startup..

If on the other hand you wish to put a shortcut to gmail in your start menu.. then it all depends on what operating system you are using..

The gmail notifier should automatically launch at startup...

Outlook will check and download your gmail account as soon as you open it, and then periodically at each interval specified by you when you configured the account within outlook..

If you want a shortcut to your Gmail webinterface on your start menu, the easiest thing to do is...

1.) Right click on desktop
2.) choose new
3.) choose shortcut
4.) type in www.gmail.com
5.) hit next
6.) Name the shortcut (gmail should do!)
7.) Hit next
8.) right click on new shortcut and choose Pin to start menu...

If you're not sure whether the notifier is going to launch at startup, you can always check the registry...

1.) Start
2.) Run
3.) Regedit
4.) Expand HKEY_Local_Machine
5.) Expand Software
6.) Expand Microsoft
7.) Expand Windows
8.) Expand CurrentVersion
9.) Click on Run
10.) Look for gnotify.exe

If that's there, it'll launch every time you launch windows, regardless of whether it's in the startup group in your start menu or not..

Let me know if that gives you a solution or not...

Feel free to drop me a line if you want..

Is this G-mail notifier available for Apple's OS-X?
