Spraying U-Pol Raptor.

Anybody have any first hand experience of spraying U-pol Raptor?
I'm trying to use it as an underbody sealer on my Alfa and whilst I'm finding it goes on OK with. Brush my attempt at spraying it with a Shutz gun have been dismal. Nothing seems to come out if the gun at all, just a few dribbles.
I haven't tried thinning it, but judging by the instructions the amount of thinner allowed is minimal anyway.
I've never managed to get a the Shutz gun to do anything mind, are they just useless unless you have an industrial sized compressor?

Ian, I've used Raptor on the complete underside of my car. It went on brilliantly without needing to be thinned out. I used a turbine HVLP sprayer and gun, one of these http://www.hvlpshop.co.uk/Item/apollo_spraymaster_... Really, the job couldn't have been easier and after two good coats the results are superb. And there was no need to use a Schutz gun/head as the standard Apollo nozzle size was perfect for a tight Schutz finish.
Could it be the Raptor is too cold for spraying? If so, stand the Raptor in a bucket of hot water for 20-30mins, shaking half way and then shake the bottle really well before transferring to the spray pot. Or, do you have enough pressure in your spray system to paint atomize?
For a cracking finish buy one of these Apollo units...can be used for 100's of applications, no faffing with compressors, oil, charcoals et al. Every sub-component is available + multiple nozzle sizes +++

That Apollo unit does look good, sadly I don't have the cash at the moment, but I have to say I'm tempted.
Cold may have been an issue, but I did sit the bottle in front of a halogen heater for a while. The mix is very very gloopy though.
The upol demo shows a Shultz gun being used, so whilst the Apollo looks great I shouldn't really have to go that way to get a decent result.

It sprayed neat thinners easily enough, but previously I've never got it to spray anything successfully. Pretty sure it's really down to the lack air volume.

As note, the Raptor mix is naturally gloopy. The problem is with your existing equipment in not having enough air flow/pressure. An Apollo is your friend...

I was speaking to the U-Pol sales guy at the NEC Classic Car Show about this product and he had lots of sample paint chips showing the different textures possible by using a variation of thinners + equipment.
Why don't you give Upol a ring and talk to their tech guys and I'm sure them be able to advise you what you're doing wrong. They were very helpful and knowledgeable at the show.

OP i see you are in Yorkshire, In the past I've hired similar equipment to the linked apollo, from a couple of different places in Leeds, the cost was minimal.
Can't imagine why a shutz gun wouldn't work though, other than a lack of air. What size air line are you using ? a decent diameter airline can make all the difference, especially if the compressor is on the small size. My compressor is pretty big but i have at least one airline that is useless for spraying.
