Very excited.

Congratulations, I have driven your car ;-) I only live 5 minutes away from Romans, are you also nearby?

I'm near Sevenoaks so not exactly local but not too far off. I haven't driven the car yet - what's it like? smile

Congratualations lovely colour I got my Mclaren at begining of this month.
Live not far from you over the bridge in Essex. Come over and meet all the Essex group one day.

I drove it pre service and it was great but it felt like it needed a service. I know it's been done now as it was at Ascot and also had a new sensor for something. It's a great colour VO and the panel colour match was very good compared to the car at Ascot at the same price (that I had a deposit on). You just need to decide if you can wait 90 days for McLaren warranty or use the Romans warranty? When do you go to drive?

It's just had a £2,500 service at Ascot with lots done. I'm not going to drive it, I've never driven one so have nothing to compare it to anyway. I just need to arrange insurance, find an alternative home for either the Elise or the 928 and make a decision on paint protection film, then I can pay the balance and drive home.

It comes with a 90 day RAC warranty from Romans, after that I will probably put on the same one that Alastair Bols uses. That reminds me - I used Alastair to sort out the deal with Romans, what a great guy.

What is the general view on paint protection film? The car has a single stone chip on the front bumper which happened on the way back from its service at Ascot - sod's law!

Congratulations. I work about 1 minute away from Romans and have driven passed the car for the last few days.

It looks the business. Great colour. Enjoy

Nice one, same as mine, VO with silver standard wheels - the "classic" spec!

As an aside, it makes it much easier to get an exact diecast model smile

Yeah, I actually like the standard wheels best. They remind me of the F1 wheel, I gather they were inspired by them. Quite like them in standard silver too, but would be happy with stealth finish.

No, I am hopefully completing on it tomorrow and then it is being shipped to Wombat Wrapping in Kent (near me) and then when it's filmed up I will drive it then!

Might sound daft but it's just had a £2.5k service at Ascot, I'm sure it's fine. Plus I have confidence in Romans to do the right thing if there are any issues.

Romans are great guys, I am sure they will be good to you. I only live 5 mins away and have driven a few cars there over the years. They also have a Ducati S4RS Pride of place in the showroom which makes me smile as its identical to mine! I'm thinking of getting the self healing liquid on mine for around £700, need to do some more research....

I completed the purchase yesterday and the car is being delivered to wombat wrapping in tonbridge for their "basic" self healing protection to front bumper, wing mirrors and leading edges. That's the cheapest one they do which is 715 plus vat.

So I should finally get my hands on the car Friday next week. Can't wait! I have had the handover so I know how everything works. I have to say I love the cabin and switchgear in the McLaren.

I took the owners manual home with me after deposit. Read it before I picked up car, which helped me know where all buttons were before I drove car home.
