I'm off to 'World of Concrete' in the U.S. this week. It's right up there for dullness.

I'll post some pictures too because apparently there's a seminar on various aggregates!

But there must be worst ones no?

Bookbinders' conference at NEC. I was so damn bored I glued a quid to the floor in front of my stand and watched the attendees try and pick it up.

I used to work on events at a hotel where we held a conference and sales event for the security sector. All the stands were full of toys for the bedroom commando shop or building site security guard. It was the sort of stuff that would appeal to the bloke who would buy an hour expandable baton on Ebay. It was deathly dull and poorly attended.

I go to 2 or 3 insurance trade shows a year. Against all expectations they're usually quite good fun!

I used to work for a recovery company.

Once went to the Tow Show at the Telford "International" centre.

I got thoroughly st-faced at the industry banquet and woke up with the worst hangover imaginable, still clutching 2 bottles of wine I'd smuggled around from dinner. Discovered one of the other attendees sleeping in the tub of my hotel room.

Day 2 was hard work. Stuffy exhibition hall in sweltering heat. You'd be forced to taste whoever was in your vicinity, which doesn't go down so well when you're hungover.

To be fair, it would have probably only been slightly boring if I hadn't been working on the stand, they had some cool demo's with some pyrotechnics for effect, and the stand opposite ours had scantily clad models...

I once attended a conference of the International Pricing Society in Bruge. The first 4 hours was incredibly, painfully, unbelievably boring, after which it being Bruges I escaped with another delegate and proceeded to spend the rest of the day getting utterly stfaced.

I dunno, the ones in Amsterdam can be quite nice....

Plus Bauma in Munich, and Conexpo in Vegas... not all bad.

I didn't go so cannot report on how entertaining it was or wasn't, however on my way to a curry house in Harrogate I went past the sign for this.

It's in Vegas! Had it been at Springfields showground (Spalding), or just outside Warrington you may have some sympathy, but once you get outside there are numerous diversions for the tired mind.

I went to an interview once at Stoneleigh, I think it was a renewable energy conference. There was piles of st being turned into energy. Next to it was the wind power section which wafted the smell of st around more than necessary. I didn't get the job either

Sustainable building materials expo at Earls Court.

full of 'kin lentil weaving, no good rug munchers and light footed swampies that knitted their own ties

Got absolutely battered at the bar, ended up in some dive down the Fulham Rd. in World's End.

We then had to complete a questionnaire about it for work. One of my cohorts managed to pass off a completely comprehensible work of fiction that he was asked to become the company champion in that field.

I went to one in a quarry in Derby.

Expectations: Tonka trucks, free swag, random lovelies from various construction firms.

Reality: Dust, dust, and more dust. Some diggers. Small groups of salary-men faking interest.

Some big pushbike show in Cologne, it was like spot the customer

It was soooo boring I started chatting the up the Girls in the stand opposite, made for a few entertaining evenings & a wee session in a hidy hole between the stands cloud9

The same show a year later we the lads went on a night out, one of the lads from Venhill Eng ended up waking up in the foyer of some random hotel in Bohn! with no shoes or trousers on all by himself, made for an interesting trip back to Koln in the morning rofl He had absolutely no idea what happened yikeshehe
