Decent for £500? Sensa Romagna Special (alu, cf fork, 105)

Because not everyone HUKDs and this seemed like a good deal I thought I'd post it here in case anyone is looking for a new bike.

Not a current model, but still seems like a step up from the usual fare at this price.

Looks a bit of a bargain, cant really go wrong with that spec, Wheels might need upgrading within the first year (as with any bike under £1000) looks good for price and Merlin know what they are doing

Only competition is SH, I got a Wilier XP carbon, with 105 and American Classic Aero Wheels (£500 new) that had hardly been ridden for £500 this time last year.

You can get some amazing bargains on ebay , more so off-season, but its a maze of bullstters and crap though!

Bargains on the 'bay you say?

Looking for a MTB on there (among other places) at the moment, and among the suggestions that came up beneath one bike I was looking at was this...

...a bit outside my area, and patently not a MTB, it would stretch N+1 too far, or I'd have a cheeky bid on it. No detailed description, so I can only assume it's from the lower end of the model range, but...

...a 51cm Felt road bike, with Shimano pedals, size 8 shoes, and a Giro helmet. And with 5 days left to run, there are 14 bids on it, highest so far is £18. Now I doubt it'll sell that low, but a potential bargain for someone near Llanelli in South Wales.

Now if only I could find those ads for the MTBs that are equally vaguely described and under the radar, I could snap up a bargain myself. Sadly, anything that ain't a BSO seems to be pretty accurately described, located in Cumbria or Scotland, or on 'Buy It Now' for a silly high price 'cause "I know what this bike is worth, innit!"

Nice. I never seem to catch these kind of bargains when I have a little look though, as you say it's always for 'what you don't need'

Indeed thats how I bought both Wiliers on Ebay. They had "vague" descriptions and rubbish photos, I asked the seller for detailed info and they usually helped. One I had to drive Bracknell to Kent and back, the other I drove Swindon to Yorkshire (one Saturday morning!) . With both they were better than described and came with loads of extras that werent in the ad such as lights, spare chain, spare cassette.

...Having said that I recently bought a single speed on ebay that wasnt a bargain in the first place and then needed quite a few spare parts, meaning in the end it would have been cheaper to buy one new!!!

Best way second hand is to buy something that has been "ridden once" then left in shed (or better their front room!), from a non mainstream brand (spesh and giant hold value too well ) during bad weather (such as now)
