A Late Apology
Discussion
Ladies, Gents, I am sorry that I did not introduce myself earlier. I joined the PH TVR forum some weeks ago after a friend of mine told me it existed. Since then I have come to realise just how much of a friendly community style forum this is and something I was not expecting. It was rude of me not to introduce myself earlier for that I apologise.
I bought a 2003 Tuscan S from a non dealer garage trading in my old 3000GT in the process. A mate of mine has had a Cerbera 4.2 for a while and a Chimera before that. He is responsible for goading me to get the Tuscan. Boy do I wish I had done it sooner....awesome.
Its good to see that you folks are willing to share info and help each other out so much. I am an engineer myself (work away from UK a lot) and would hope to be able to also add to the quality of info shared in the near future as I become more familiar with my car. I am due back in 3 weeks time and can't wait to get out and enjoy my new found experience in top performance motoring...
Thanks and regards
Graham

I'm working towards making the same change (albeit a GTO and not a 3000GT)!! How are you finding it?
Mark
Hi Mark
The 3000GT is a great car, but it does not offer any where near the same sense of occasion as the TVR. To get the best out of the 3000GT you have to boost it to 1 bar, at this level you are running it right on its limit in standard trim. Get into the Tuscan and you have so much more and more and more….. With mine I quickly found the drivers window/door seal was leaking but I fixed that by removing the seal and refitting it using black silicon. The engine is a little rough when first started up from cold but smoothes out when fully warmed up. If your thinking about getting one, I would say do it otherwise you will always be wondering what you missed out on. I would say buy the newest car you can afford and treat it with care and attention when running up from cold. Having said that it would not be my choice of car for a daily runner. If it will be your daily runner, depending on your usage you may expect high running costs to keep the TVR service history. I used to do my own servicing on the 3000GT, but because of the value of a TVR service history and the S6 engine and warranty issues, I will have a dealer do everything.

Now then Andy,
I reckon a trip to KL will have to wait untill after I get Baku out of the way, couple years to go at the moment with a few stints back in UK testing. There right now so aim to enjoy the Tusc as much as possible. If you get back before July give me a shout and maybe we can get round to that run out. Would love to do Le Mans with you fella's, but doubt I will get the time off for it.
Be good n take care
