Toyota Celica 190 - The New Daily

After selling my Mk1 Mx-5 a few weeks ago I was on the lookout for a new daily. It was between an Ep3 Civic or a Celica 190. In the end I chose the Celica due to my budget, better tax/fuel and struggling to find a standard type r.
Found this one on autotrader, only been on a hour and snapped the guys hand off to buy it. The next morning I went to view and it was mine.

Picked it up for £1700. 80k miles, full Toyota service history, all original booklets, stacks of receipts. No expense spared on the car which was used as a weekend toy during the summer. Nothing needs replacing and everything works. Paintwork is immaculate, alloys have been refurbed, I could go on, on how clean it is. Got myself a right bargain.
Driving wise its great for cruising around and has plenty of power to keep up with traffic even in non lift mode. Fuel is about the same as the mx5 I think but Ive not had it long enough to compare as Ive been giving it some due to it been a new play thing.
The only thing that needs changing are the front tyres, they are some ditchfinder brand which are terrible in the wet even at slow speed.
Hopefully Il have worry free motoring in the next year or so!

I knew about the spoiler as an extra but not the skirts/alloys, more things im finding out. Hopefully it will serve me well, no big bills coming, chain driven, just keep on top of the oil changes and treat it a little better than my old car (meaning actually wash it every month or so).
Great cars. I had a blue 190 back in the day and always felt slightly superior to TSports for a reason I can't remember. I regret selling it, I was thinking of doing a bit of a mild revamp but then got a new job and needed some sort of dieselly thing. Not a happy day. Glad to see these generation Celicas still very much in circulation and acquiring of late a bit of a cult following on PH. Hope you enjoy her!
After having it a week, the car is growing on me, so easy to drive and like the comments on here theres plenty of room in the boot with the seats down if I ever needed to carry anything, even got a small person in the back which was surprising. Fuel economy has averaged out and id say it gets around 25-30mpg which is fine for the amount of miles I do.
Swapped the front tyres with the back and its made a huge difference especially in the wet. Also had an opportunity to get under it and it looks really clean, no rust and the exhaust is new.
No plans for it, just going to keep it looking nice and keep on top of its service history.

One thing you should consider is lowering it slightly - very common mod for Gen 7 Celicas as they sit far too high on factory springs (apart from the GT which is on lowering springs as standard) . Mine's on Apex springs which give a 30mm drop, totally transforms the car's posture.
