Hi, I'm fairly new to S ownership and have a question. Where abouts is the plunger kept that removes the cap over the wheel nut?. On a previous car it had a special little slot under the bonnet. If there is no special place and my car's remover has been lost, does anyone know where a replacement can be bought? Cheers.

Can you post a photo of the "cap over the wheel nut"? It might help us understand what you are looking for.

I don't think TVR included this luxury item as an optional extra on the S cars. I used a small flat blade screwdriver to remove my plastic wheel nut caps.

I dug in the boot, behind the space saver spare wheel and found the plunger and wheel bolt adaptor. Thank goodness for that. I presume it would be a real ball ache to replace it as I assume it would be fairly unique to the car. Thanks guys.

..very unique Mike...mine doesn't have one of those, just a different locking wheel nut...so it could be particular to your car

That's an aftermarket set of locking nuts, not specific to TVR.
If you lose the plunger remover thingy, the slide-on cover sleeves can be removed using a piece of appropriately-sized rubber hose. Simples smile

Unique indeed. As I said in another thread, no two S series is the same.
Re the pics of my car, I'll start a new topic so I can get the true adoration of the crowd😁

Can anyone recommend a better locking wheel nut? I've got both rear wheels off to do a bit of fettling tonight, but I wouldn't want to be fannying about on the side of the road trying to locate the 3 prongs and undo the nut.

How often do you leave the car unattended, and where the wheels could get nicked? If that outcome isn't likely, then simple push-on chrome nut covers might be enough. You'll still need something to get them off with, but they would be enough to deter an opportunist.

Anyone actually ever had a wheel stolen from their S ?

Or has "everyone" got locking nuts?

they're probably not a size or style that will appeal (be easy to sell) to the average thieving scumbag scratchchin

No. But I did see a new A3 Audi that had broken down yesterday and left alone. The two back wheels were gone.
I would always stay with my car until it was recovered.

Those old-style 3 prong type keys can bend and break.

The McGard locking wheel nuts are better: http://www.mcgard.de/en/home/automotive.html
They look identical to those factory-fitted to current Fords. Halfrauds sell them.
