Hi all,

I went to Potters Bar this morning to pick up some parts for my Mini. I had my dad with me and I was commenting on how I thought it was a good idea to get one of those AA Warranties, due to all the problems with TVR Clutches. Not 20 seconds later and the clutch goes straight to the floor!

Looking back I think it has become more and more difficult to select gears, but I thought it was all in my head.

So the RAC come and pick me up with a really nifty low loader see pic, and the driver Dave was really helpful and took the upmost of care with my P&J.

Looks like the master cylinder has gone judging by all the fluid down on the mat. Steve Guglielmi has just done the slave a few weeks ago, oh well the joys of TVR ownership.

Anyone know where the master cylinder is from? Or where to get a seal kit??

Here is the pic, sorry but it was taken on my phone

If it is the master, which it sounds like it is, then its not as expensive as the the slave.

Bad luck Nick.
They do say if only one of the cylinders is replaced the other will need to be soon after!

Hope it's sorted quickly.

I am sure its the master. Not really a problem but I am now transportless!

My TVR is sitting in the drive and the crank for the mini is in the workshop!

BUGGER!

I got a seal kit from Joolz, about £12 IIRC

Bad luck with the clutch mate - hope you get it sorted soon. I too have felt the butt end of TVR clutches over the last few months. Welcome to the CFC

Cheers,

I guess its part of owning cars like the Cerbera I expect things to go wrong. I have already had the clutch and the slave replaced in the last 9 months so this is the last component in the system, ao with a bit of luck thats it for the clutch.

Its just sods law that I now have both my mini and my Cerbera in bits! Well I am off work next week so it will give me something to do!!

I'm a new member of the CFC.

Oh how I wish the AA had one of those nifty trucks, I had to wait 6 1/2 hours for a recovery truck that would actualy recover my car. Even then, it was just a normal flatbed with a winch - I was a bit worried but after waiting that long, I was desperate to get home. Thankfully, the guy recovering it knew what he was doing.

Luckily, I got one of those AA parts and labour warranties three weeks ago when the spirit warranty expired. I wasn't going to bother, but I'm glad I did now. Lets hope there's no complications.
