big idle issue!

The chimaera is currently on stands whilst the differential is to be fixed and gearbox. I started the car up for the first time today and it is idling at 2500 - 3000 rpm .... I played around with the alan key idle controller which isnt doing anything....is this timing? or what else could make it idle so highly?

and i do believe the stepper motor is fairly new...i didnt have this problem before i dismantled bits on the car....

So that was due to the extra air getting in was it?

well as soon as I plugged it in and started it up it idled perfectly, the intake system is only till the maf sensor
