Engine Cutting Out When Slowing Down

Anyone got any ideas on why my engine should cut out or struggle to maintain an idle, when I'm pulling up to stop ?? It seems to me that it maybe the stepper motor not managing to sort the idle out quick enough and causing the engine to stall. I do on occasion also have the car just cut out whilst driving along, although this does mainly seem to be a slower speeds. I have had all the battery area apart over christmas, to replace the battery and neaten the whole wiring mess up, so maybe I've disturbed something.
Any suggestions ??

Have you cleaned the stepper motor?

Since you've disturbed that area recently, I'd be inclined to suspect an electrical fault.

Probably not related, but the one AND only time I filled up with Shell OPtimax, I had yhhis happen. Even on the motorway, changeing gears the revs would drop to below idle (just in the instan the clutch is down) and nearly cut out.

Problem went away when back on 97/95 ron unleaded.

I had the same problem yonks ago. It was the throttle pots... Speak to Joolz, and get the Dreadnought 'virtually indestructable' throttle pots installed...

Could also be a faulty road speed sensor input to the ECU so that it does not maintain revs. Plugging in a diagnostic should confirm one way or another.
