Always wondered why big games are released on Tuesdays, Destiny, and the upcoming The Division for example..

I'm not convinced. The US and UK have different release days, each immediately after the statistics are gathered for the weekly charts, so maximising the sales stats for the charts in the next week's poll.

Very interesting article, but doesn't really answer the question of 'why Tuesday' for me. All the principles of the original successful launch could be equally applied to Wednesday, with the exception of the wordplay on the name. To put it another way, my question would be 'given that the one reason that Tuesday was originally chosen over all other days of the week doesn't apply to your game in 2016, why are you still releasing games on Tuesday?'. I think the article that addresses that question would be one word long: habit.

Sonic2 launched on 2sday or Tuesday.

It's because 2 sounds like tue

True enough, but my question is why are games still being released on a Tuesday when they aren't called Sonic 2, nor have 2 in the title. The article doesn't answer the question of why people still release on Tuesdays, it explains where it came from.
