Not really researched exhaust options for my SL as the stock exhaust sounds pretty good as it is.

The LOC Rev5 seems to get many thumbs up generally from what I can see but interested to know if anybody has gone down this route with their Mk1 SL? I'm keen on knowing how people have got on with it and has it been reliable? (i.e. not throwing up check engine lights) etc. Obviously interested in the sound difference across the rev ranges, is it too loud?

Thanks!

not sure what mileage you've done, but my standard exhaust is still improving at 45k

It's done just over 20k now Andrew. It may have got louder since I bought the car a year ago but hard to tell. Have you noticed a considerable change with the mileage with the stock exhaust then?

it's just gradually got louder over the years
the engine was still freeing up noticeably as late as 30k

I've had a Loc5 on my SL for over a year now with decat pipes car sounds awesome bloody loud on start up until air pump cuts out.
slight loss in low speed but mid range and top end more than makes up for it, plus you've got the massive weight saving which you can really feel.
i get the occasional Cel light now and again but that's easily reset.
