how do i check if my transducer is working ?

Hi all,

Having over come the exhaust removal, I have now removed the speed transducer off of the gearbox (early LT177). any ideas how i test it to see if it is working now it is removed ? Apologies, if this is a bit of a thick question !

It should produce a 12 volt switching signal as you rotate it.
