I have just purchased a new computer ,after having my pants pulled down at the local **world outlet before i decided to go to a local computer store.
The problem is when i connect my camera with the lead to the usb port i no longer get the windows caption that automatically comes up on the screen which then gives you the option as to what you want to do with the pictures, there is power coming down the lead to power up the camera because the light comes on.
Any ideas

What kind of camera?

Also if you look in Windows explorer you might find an extra drive has appeared. This should be your digital camera flash card.

Are you using an early version of Canon ZoomBrowser by any chance? It may not be compatible with Windows XP. I had a real problem getting it to work with XP even got a disc sent out from Canon with a new version. It's still temperamental and I have to reboot the PC every time I want it to see the camera so I can download. There's a lot of info on the Canon site about this.

If you're not using the ZB then I'm wasting your time!!
