hi

My bumpers on my tvr 3000m seem to have seen better days, I assume as they are the foam type they have deteriated with age and have split etc.

I have seen on the david gerald website a they are selling stainless steel ones for £1200 + vat !!!!.

Does anybody know where I can get some good second hand ones from or new ones and what should I expect to pay for a set.

I also need to know where are the nuts / bolts located to remove the bumbers.

Many Thanks

Paul

Give Adrian Venn a call. He used to be able to supply black fibreglass replacements for the rubber ones. Not sure of pricing but they'll be a darned sight cheaper than £1200+VAT!

Gene Bird (Clasic Motor Works) in the US sells them for US$100 each made from black urethane.

Each or for a set?

FWIW, we got a set of GRP ones, for a lot less than that, and they seem fine. They do need a top coat to give them the gloss they deserve to finish the car off, but apart from that they look like the original, and aren't likely to split like the foam ones did, obivously due to rust on the inner metal straps.

If you're interested in seeing the ones we've got, which are as yet unfitted, let me know.

In my experience, the GRP ones are fine until you fit them! They don't flex or mould to the body so you end up with a small gap; not so bad with a 3000M but not as good with a Taimar or 3000S. The main advantage is that they don't crack or split like the rubber ones can and they are a lot cheaper.
