Full frame + lens for £800
Discussion
Whoops maybe should have checked that through a little better. to clarify I meant 7D.
Those are second hand listing prices through Ebay and other forums. I'm in the horrible situation that I'd love to save for longer but time is slightly against me. Id just like to buy the most versatile system I can find

The 7D is not full frame, if you want a full frame body that might let you get a semi decent lens for astro too, I would look at the 5D2.....unless you want the speed of the 7D.
Used 5D2 and used 24-105 is where my money would go.
Not worried about speed as I don't shoot any wildlife or sport. Got mixed up with the Canon camera range, Im familiar with all the Nikon range but still gating to grips with the Canon ones. Used 5D2 and used 24-105 is where my money would go.
The full frame bodies (new and used) are the 1DX, 1DS, 5D and 6D.
The 1.3 crop (APS-H, no longer made) are the 1D bodies
Everything else is a 1.6 crop or APS-C.
Canon EF lenses will work on all bodies, but they will have a narrower field of view on APS-C and APS-H compared to full frame bodies, EFS lenses can be fitted on APS-C bodies. only.
