New point and shoot

Im looking to replace my ageing panasonic lumix dmc fx35 and wondered what people thought of sony cameras.
I quite like the look of the one below, its mainly for holiday and new baby snaps etc nothing too fancy.
Ive got nothing against going back to panasonic if there is not much between them at this price.
Any advice is much appreciated, budget max £200.

I've got an earlier version, it's the HX20V.

Been very happy with it and would certainly replace it with the HX60V if it where lost/stolen/damaged.

Sorry for the late reply, in 2014 I was lent a Sony HX50 (which was the predecessor to the HX60) whilst my Canon was in for repair, I found that in the daylight it was extremely capable with an excellent zoom lens, what it wasn't so good at was taking photos in low-light conditions whereby the shutter speed drops quite dramatically so causes blur on moving objects. I would say that it is no worse than any other camera using this size of sensor so not something that you need to be unduly bothered about unless you want to spend a fair bit more money on something with a larger sensor, then you lose the 30x zoom!

For the money it's a well accomplished camera and the 30x zoom really is superb for something so compact.

You won't go far wrong with your choice because as with most things camera related, there are always some compromises involved.

Here's a couple of pics I took in August 2014 at Rufford Park of an Owl using the HX50, focal length 129mm, 1/250th, f/6.3, ISO:160, I've dropped the resolution of these images to 1600px for uploading to PH but the native resolution was 5184px x 3888px and 6.7MB in size.
