Excuse the shocking spelling in my post above please, I was typing in a rush on my silly little phone. Ive said I will buy it now anyway, I will use it as an outside system for bbq's in the summer here in Cyprus. I have a decent LG home cinema for inside which is new and more powerful but interested to see how this Onkyo conpares smile

No idea about that model but I have an onkyo mini system. That's probably about 6 or 7 years old now. It's an absolutely fantastic piece of kit. Ive surprised a few people when I've told them how little the system cost.

I'm hoping this sounds pretty good, I've heard of onkyo before but never heard on the speaker brand that comes with this one. Worth a punt tho at €150 so about 120 pounds ish at whatever rate I'm getting these days smile

Good Amp brand Onkyo have been around a while and are on the Brash side of listening normally. Certainly better than any LG system. The Jamo Speakers should be OK. They also have been around a while and are HiFi occasionally producing a gem of a speaker but usually just good, well built ones.

Older Onkyo's used to have a problem with the hdmi switching ,you got the sound but no picture

Saying that I have a couple of newer ones and have had no problems with them although I did take an extended warranty with them just to be on the safe side

For £120 you can't really go wrong with that

I use the centre (the larger satellite speaker) and a pair of the smaller ones as surrpunds and they're okay speakers.

I have an Onkyo 5.1 A/V system, can't remember the model number but it has the receiver and sub combined. Brilliant bit of kit.

However the remote has just packed up, replaced the batteries and still dead, so I guess a replacement is in order.
