The kids are driving us mad with go pros trying to film vlogs. Although they are OK picture wise, the microphones are poo and they aren't getting a good shot as they can't see the frame.

Can anyone recommend any good video cameras for upto £300? Ideally with a reversible screen and decent mic or ability to attach one.

Thanks.

This is pretty much standard stuff for Sony, whichever is the current model will do just fine. My CX320E meets your description but is at least a couple of years old now.

They will have to learn not to look at the screen while they are shooting though, it will be a bit weird for the viewer otherwise.

Also worth considering is Panasonic which offer several decent quality camcorders that sit well within your budget, take a drive down to your local PC World to see what they have on offer, website is: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/panasonic-cameras-ca...

I have the Panasonic HC-V250 which i've been fairly pleased with (the interface is a bit clunky), it has a full reversing LCD screen which auto flips on the view, though ought to mention that I tend to use the 'video recording' mode on my RX100 camera so it's not getting as much use as it ought to. Make sure you buy a fast 32GB or 64GB SD card because they do tend to eat a lot of memory! It can also be powered up directly from the mains or car cigarette lighter using a third party adapter so is extremely versatile.

I think the problem with these type of camcorders with the flip screens is that they tend to be a bit delicate, so might get broken by over-enthusiastic kids on the rampage, and the more durable camcorders don't offer the flip LCD screen for precisely that reason. Perhaps your kids are better trained than ours!

That would have been my suggestion, or the new GoPro with screen, the you can use the same mounts etc, but get 2 angles.
